Concrete & Masonry Repair on Long Island

Fix the Hard Surfaces Before They Get Worse

Cracked concrete, a patio section that has dropped, loose pavers, a wall that has started to move. None of it stays the same size. Practical Exterior Maintenance repairs and restores concrete, pavers, patios and walkways across Nassau and Suffolk County, for homes and commercial properties.

Repair Before Replacement

Where a section can be repaired or restored, we do that rather than quote for tearing the whole thing out.

Residential and Commercial

Concrete, paver and masonry repairs for homes and business properties across Nassau and Suffolk County.

We Look Underneath

Surfaces move for a reason. Drainage, settlement or roots. We say what is causing it instead of patching over it.

Part of the Wider Property

This sits alongside the paver sealing, drainage and cleaning we already do, so one visit can cover more than one problem.

Concrete, Paver and Masonry Repair for Long Island Properties

Repairs, Restoration and Coatings

Most of this work starts small. A crack lets water in, the water freezes, and by the following spring the crack is wider and the slab either side of it has started to lift. A paver that has sunk pulls its neighbours out of line. A walkway that has shifted becomes something people trip on.We repair concrete and resurface it where the slab is sound but the surface is not. We fill and seal cracks before they open up. We reset sunken pavers and relay sections that have moved, and we carry out the smaller masonry repairs that keep a patio or a wall where it should be. Where a walkway or patio has gone past repair in places, we restore the section rather than tear out the whole thing. We also take on fence and exterior repairs, and complete backyard refresh projects where several of these jobs are done together. Residential and commercial, across Long Island.

Why Concrete Cracks

Water, Frost and Movement

Concrete on Long Island goes through the same cycle every year. Water finds its way into a hairline crack, freezes, expands, and makes the crack slightly bigger. The next rain gets further in. Over a few winters a crack you could barely see becomes one you can put a finger into, and the two sides stop sitting level with each other. Repairing it early is a different job, and a smaller one, than repairing it late.

Patios, Walkways and Backyard Projects

Restoring an Outdoor Space

A patio rarely fails all at once. One corner drops, a few pavers come loose, an edge gives way where the ground behind it has washed out. Dealing with those sections keeps the rest of the space usable and puts off the day the whole thing needs replacing. Where an owner wants more than a repair, we take on backyard refresh projects that bring the paving, the planting and the surrounding exterior work back together at the same time.

Concrete & Masonry Repair FAQs

Common Questions About Our Service

It depends on whether the slab underneath is still sound. If it is, cracks can be filled and sealed and the surface restored or coated. If the slab has broken up or the ground under it has gone, a repair will not hold and we will say so.
Usually yes. Sunken pavers are lifted, the base is made good, and they are reset to line up with the ones around them. The important part is finding out why that spot sank, because otherwise it will sink again.
Our work here is repair and restoration, section by section, rather than full replacement. If a patio is past that point we will tell you rather than take on a repair that will not last.
Yes. We carry out concrete, paver and masonry repairs for both residential and commercial properties across Nassau and Suffolk County.
Yes, and it often makes sense to. Repairs, paver sealing, drainage and exterior cleaning are frequently done together on the same visit.

Look at the Cause

A crack or a sunken section usually has a reason underneath it. We find out what moved and why before deciding what to do about the surface.

Repair or Restore

Some surfaces need filling and sealing, some need resetting, some need resurfacing. We tell you which, and we say so plainly when a section is past repair.

Finish and Make Good

The repair is finished to match what is around it as closely as the materials allow, and the area is left clean.
